Rihanna : Talk That Talk

Talk That Talk is the sixth studio album by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna and was released on November 18, 2011, through Def Jam Recordings. The lead single from the album, "We Found Love" featuring Calvin Harris, premiered on Capital FM radio on September 22, 2011, and was released on iTunes U.S. the same day. The album is rooted in R&B, dance-pop, and pop, but also incorporates a variety of genres such as hip hop, electro, trance, house, and dubstep.

Lyrically, the album speaks of love, sexuality, and empowerment. The album received generally positive reviews from critics, many of which complimented its departure from the dark themes presented on her fourth and fifth studio albums, Rated R (2009) and Loud (2010), respectively.

Loud (Rihanna Album)

Loud adalah album studio kelima oleh penyanyi R&B asal Barbados yaitu Rihanna, yang dirilis pada 16 November 2010, oleh perusahaan rekaman Def Jam Recordings. Perekaman dari single dan lagu pada album ini berlangsung selama enam bulan, dari bulan Februari sampai Agustus 2010 disamping turnya dalam album Rated R yaitu Last Girl on Earth Tour. Loud mengusung jenis musik dance-pop dan pop sampai melebihi up-tempo. Loud juga mengembark jenis musik pertamanya dancehall yang dipengaruhi sejak albumnya yang dirilis pada tahun 2006, A Girl Like Me.

Itulah statement Rihanna, gadis kelahiran Barbados ini menyatakan tentang materi album terbarunya, Loud. Musisi-musisi handal pun seperti StarGate, Sandy Vee, The Runners, Polow da Don, Sham, Mel & Mus, Tricky Stewart, Soundz sampai Alex da Kid diajak Rihanna mengerjakan album ke-limanya ini. Tidak ketinggalan, Shontelle Layne juga diajak terlibat kerja sama dalam penulisan satu buah lagu di Loud ini. Bermacam musik yang disajikan menambah nilai plus. Setelah bermain dalam nuansa suram pada album Rated R, melalui Loud ini Rihanna mengajak penggemarnya kembali menikmati alunan musik yang menghentak, dimana nuansa R&B, pop, europop dance disajikan apik tanpa sesuatu yang berlebihan. Beberapa lagu yang disajikan memang sepertinya mengingatkan pada beberapa track di album sebelumnya, yakni R&B. Apa yang membuat berbeda?

Penggemar cukup dibuat terhentak ketika Only Girl (In the World) dirilis menjadi single pertama. Track dengan upbeat tempo euro dance, seolah menegaskan bahwa Rihanna memang pantas membuat sesuatu yang lebih spesial di album Loud ini, begitu pula dengan S&M yang menjadi intro pada Loud ini, merupakan track dengan upbeat tempo electropop setelah Only Girl (In the World), S&M sekilas memang mengingatkan pada beberapa track milik Lady Gaga atau Katy Perry.

Mari tinggalkan jauh-jauh era Rated R dengan menikmati What’s My Name? dimana Drake turut tampil pada posisi rap, catchy dan dapat menjadi anthem baru, kental dengan nuansa R&B . Sedikit lebih berisik dengan Cheers (Drink to That), familiar dengan intronya? Pastinya, mengambil sampling hits milik Avril Lavigne, I’m With You dan sepanjang lagu tersebut pastinya dibalut dengan sampling lagu tersebut membuat Cheers (Drink to That) membuat berbeda dengan track lainnya. Tidak hanya hura-hura, melalui Fading Rihanna curhat seputar masalah berakhirnya suatu hubungan, namun jangan khawatir tidak terdengar gelap meski alunan pianonya sangat kental. Setelah Fading, Rihanna kembali mengungkapkan isi hatinya dengan California King Bed, track dengan nuansa slow rock ini kembali berbicara tentang gagalnya suatu hubungan, menariknya pada track ini terdengar megah dengan vokal Rihanna yang memang maksimal.

Sudah tinggalkan suasana sedih, mari nikmati Man Down track down tempo dengan komposisi reggae, sangat berbeda dengan Rude Boy. Apa jadinya jika Rihanna mengajak Nicki Minaj? Raining Men hasilnya, kental dengan nuansa R&B dan pastinya ciri khas Nicki terasa dan sangat annoying menurut saya pribadi mendengarkan track ini. Melalui Complicated, Rihanna membawakan dengan penuh emosional pada track pop ballad dan di ramu sedikit musik dance, great! Berlanjut dengan Skin yang masih mengandalkan down tempo R&B dan di tutup dengan Rihanna mengajak Eminem melalui Love the Way You Lie (Part II) dan sudah pasti mendengarkan track ballad ini, Rihanna seolah kembali mengingat akan gagalnya hubungan dengan mantannya, di tambah pada bagian rap yang diisi Eminem, membuat Love the Way You Lie (Part II) menjadi track penutup yang sempurna. 

Pada akhirnya, ketika Rihanna membuat album Loud ini, bukan karena merasa Rated R gagal, pada kenyataannya Rated R sendiri cukup sukses. Beberapa track yang sudah di lempar sebagai single dan meraih sukses, seolah kembali mengangkat Rihanna ke puncak kejayaannya, sebagai penyanyi wanita yang memang tidak perlu diragukan lagi. Rentang waktu setahun setelah Rated R dirilis tahun lalu, membuat Rihanna menjadi female vocalist yang aktif membuat album. Kualitas vokalnya yang memang makin matang, dan tidak mau bermain dalam jalur aman dan ternyata berhasil pastinya akan membuat Rihanna akan semakin terus berkibar. Menikmati Loud akan menjadi candu sendiri ketika semakin sering diputar dan pastinya tidak perlu berpikir dua kali untuk mengkoleksi CD nya. Enjoy and let’s LOUD!

Sebelum Rihanna merilis album barunya Loud terlebih dahulu dia merilis single utamanya Only Girl (In the World) pada 21 September 2010 , yang seakan-akan menunjukkan bahwa albumnya akan berbeda dengan album-album sebelumnya. Setelah sukses dalam single lagu Only Girl (In the World), Rihanna merilis album kedua yaitu What’s My Name pada 29 Oktober 2010, yang menggandeng penyanyi Drake. Single ini tidak kalah suksesnya dengan singlenya yang pertama. Tak puas dengan penyanyi Drake, Rihanna mengajak duet dengan Nicki Minaj dalam single ketiganya dilagu Raining Men. Selanjutnya, Rihanna mengajak para fans-nya "Rihanna Navy" untuk memilih single selanjutnya yaitu Cheers (Drink To That) dengan S&M, karena banyak fansnya yang menyukai 2 lagu tersebut. Akhirnya S&M dipilih sebagai single ketiganya yang dirilis pada 21 Januari 2011. Dalam single ini tidak kalah juga dengan single-single sebelumnya, namun dalam pembuatan video klip lagu ini banyak menuai kontroversi. Tak ingin tertinggal dengan S&M, Rihanna punya trik khusus untuk single kelimanya yang akan segera dirilis, yakni dengan meminta para fans untuk memilihkan lagu untuknya! 

Melalui akun Twitter-nya, penyanyi asal Barbados ini meminta para fansnya yang sudah berjumlah 3,7 juta lebih untuk memilih satu lagu dari album terbarunya, "Loud", untuk dijadikan single kelima. Twittnya "(terjemahan dalam bahasa Indonesia)"

Salah seorang fans mengusulkan agar Rihanna menjadikan lagu "Skin", Rihanna berat untuk menjadikan single karena setelah kontroversinya dalam single S&M. Setelah beberapa masukan, sang penyanyi akhirnya mengerucutkan pilihannya menjadi 4 lagu, yakni Man Down, Fading, California King Bed dan Cheers (Drink To That). 

Konser Tour

Pada 5 Juni 2011, Rihanna akan memulai konser tur-nya yang keempat, yang berjudul The Loud Tour. Hal ini sudah diumumkan pada 7 Desember 2010 dan akan mencakup 47 pertunjukan, dimulai dari Rio de Janiero sebelum mengunjungi Eropa dengan berakhirnya di Lisbon pada 17 Desember 2011. Tapi mungkin konser Rihanna ini akan terus berlanjut karena tangga lagu Loud yang terus mencapai posisi pertama dibeberapa tangga lagu terkenal. Sebelumnya Rihanna sudah mempromosikan beberapa single di album barunya Rihanna dalam konser tur album sebelumnya Rated R yaitu Last Girl on Earth Tour.

Kontroversi

Sebelumnya, sebuah cover belakang yang berisikan isi  singel dari album "Loud" rilis di Internet. Salah satu singel berisikan "Broken Heels" oleh Rihanna feat Lady Gaga. Ini membuat semua RihannaNavy (sebutan penggemar Rihanna) dan Little Monster (sebutan penggemar Gaga) terkejut dan merasa gembira. Tapi lewat Twitter dan MTv, Rihanna mengatakan bahwa cover itu palsu. Isi lagunya bisa dilihat semua para penggemarnya di tanggal 16 November 2010 di toko - toko. Tetapi sebuah lagu rilis di Internet dengan hanya beberapa detik yang berisikan "Broken Heels" yang sepertinya terdengar di dalam studio. Pertanyaannya, "Apakah Benar itu Rihanna dan Lady Gaga?" Dan fakta terungkap singel tersebut berasal dari "Eva Simons - Jodelin".
