A mansion known as Fairholme in Newport, RI is on sale for $17.9 million.
The house has 16 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and sits on 4.3 acres. The main house spans 20,000 square feet, and the carriage house is another 4,000 square feet.
The home was originally commissioned as a summer cottage for Fairman Rogers of Philadelphia, a wealthy arts patron and engineer.
Twenty years later, the Drexel family of Philadelphia purchased the house. The Vanderbilts, the Astors, and Jack Kennedy have all been guests of the home.
